Marriage in Islam



On the scheduled date, the groom's family brings a fruit platter as the gifts for the bride and also wedding dress, sarong, turban, needle... Few days later, the bride's family "returns a civility" to the groom's family a cake tray and receive an envelope of money for the bride.

Then, they invite the groom’s family come into the house to conduct the marriage ceremonies. After the priest’s statement, a reputable person will read the verses from the Koran, and then the father of the bride stands up in front of the groom to shake his hands in front of the witnesses according to the wedding ceremonies of Islam.
